A dog lover and ex-secondary school teacher, Sue Thistlewood first learned about solar panels from a knock on her door. She spoke with our Solar Specialist and took more information, initially thinking – ‘Is this too good to be true?’
Curious, but interested in saving money on her electricity bills, she spoke with her husband and initially he was very skeptical. It was an automatic ‘No’ from him. But Sue continued to find more information about free solar offers, writing down more questions along the way and noticing even Kevin McCloud from Grand Designs and Martin Lewis from Money Saving Expert also talking about the new solar schemes.
A week later, out gardening in their front yard they happened to meet the Solar Specialist in the neighbourhood again. They decided to arrange an appointment and warned the Solar Specialist that a long list of challenging questions was building. ‘We just needed a bit more education and reassurance on how the Government backed scheme worked. Plus we learned that if we decide to sell the house, solar makes a great selling point!’
The day of the install came and went in the blink of an eye. It was sheer brilliance! The team arrived at 8am and at 1pm the work was complete, the meter was handed over, and I was informed that my panels were producing electricity. "Disruption was so minimal, it was unbelievable."
Since the installation, customer service has certainly gone above and beyond! HomeSun and Carillion Energy Services both contacted me more than 2 times to check that everything was working smoothly. After the install we are doing many things differently – it’s slowly becoming second nature. I am becoming more aware of running the washing machine and dishwasher in the morning. We are also keeping close watch of our meter.
