They do all their laundry during the day, and try to ensure that they only use appliances within the ‘free’ range. "If the red light on the mains meter goes out we try to turn something off." "You need to be vigilant about when to use and when not to use appliances, but it pays off." - explains Lesley. They even bought a 1Kw kettle, which takes longer to boil but does not take them over their free electricity limit.
